Route Climbed: Various Date Climbed: 1997, 1999, 2001Excellent days walking. I´ve done this in clear skies, wind and dense mist (missed the descent ridge and accidently added an extra 6k to the walk- oops).

Route Climbed: Storey arms car park Date Climbed: May 05Pleasent stroll up, bagged Corn Du on the way past and had my lunch on the summit. That route is a little on the short side. I have done it fron Neward reservour before, this was better, had the steep approach of Cribyn on the way. Good day out.

Route Climbed: Storey Arms - Tourist Route Date Climbed: 6th March 2005A mountain I have walked up on numerous occassions and as it is local for me I can pick and choose the best days. Not always guaranteed good views as the weather can change very quickly but I have more good days up there than bad ones!

Route Climbed: Storey Hotel Date Climbed: September 11, 2002A pleasant if occasionally steep hike along a clear path that showed serious signs of erosion. Comforting -- albeit a bit strange -- to find a fellow busily shoring up the path with flagstones as I neared the top of the mountain. A very clear day and views from top marvelous, including those to the North, East, South and West, as well as straight down the north face. Was joined on top by what I gather was an army platoon out for some physical training and, later, was dazzled by a couple of RAF fighters swooping up the valley from the south and roaring a few hundred feet overhead. All in all, a memorable way to spend the first anniversary of 9/11.

Route Climbed: From the South Date Climbed: 15th April 2004Went up with a good bunch of lads on a trip from an inner city Southampton school. They whinged and whined most of the way up but done a good job of geting to the top all the same.
On reaching the summit the wind was fierce and we desended to cross the face of Cribin to avoid going over the summit. Long walk back to the mini bus in horrible rain but as i kept on telling the kids.."thats just Wales for you lads!"

Route Climbed: Horseshoe (Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn, Fan y Big) Date Climbed: 8th January 2000, and many times sinceWent up the easy path from Storey Arms the first time, but have since tried several different routes.
My favourite is the circular (horseshoe) route starting from Lower Neuadd Reservoir, taking in the summits of Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn, and Fan y Big - definitely one of the best walks you can do in the Beacons.

Route Climbed: Northern Approach Date Climbed: Dec 02We began at Nant Cwm Llwch, ascended and passed the small lake (Lyn Cwm Llwch), and climbed steeply onto the northwest ridge. From there, we passed a small memorial obelisk (Tommy Jones Memorial), and pulled steeply on to the summit of Pen y Fan's westerly neighbour; Corn Du. At this point, we descended easterly into the col, and then up on to the summit of Pen y Fan itself. Peachy route; wish I had a digital camera!
