Periodic Spring | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Periodic Spring is a fantastic place. It is a cold water geyser, where a fast, rushing creek, stops and starts. Every 15 to 20 minutes, in the right season, the creek flows, and then it stops. It is located in a beautiful box canyon, with vertical walls around it. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Ejnar Fjerdingstad | How | |
Voted 10/10 | can that happen? I thought normal geysers worked by superheated steam, so what can drive a cold geyser? | | Posted Jun 5, 2008 10:17 am |

Hasn't voted | It is like a siphon inside of the mountain. When it fills, the water flows out of the creek. When empty it slowly refills. It all happens deep inside of a steep mountainside. Pretty amazing | | Posted Jun 5, 2008 8:33 pm |
