Aspen grove birdhouse

About 2 1/2 miles into the hike, I saw this birdhouse attached to an aspen tree which was in the only aspen grove I saw on the mountain. There is another birdhouse about a quarter of a mile away. I'm wondering if this was someone's Eagle project. 4-28-15
