Petrographs at Parowan Gap

Petrographs at Parowan Gap

I know this has little to do with the climb described here but on your way to this area, it is worth the stop to visit the petrographs that are on the north side of the gap. My son in law and I were on our way to Poorman BM, a prominence peak that is located about 20+ miles from the gap. Click this pic to higher resolution to get a better view of the petrographs.

Neat bunch of graphs!

I had read newspaper accounts of this many
times, but never visited!

I always ended up going to Cedar Breaks,
Brian Head or Bryce Canyon.

Isn't there some type of narrow canyon that
you pass through, where the sun hits a
certain way and casts shadows on a sundial,
used by Native Americans to count the days of
the year??? Sounds very interesting, Dean!!!
