A very long two day trip from Twin Lakes. Camped at the highest lake north of the peak (very scenic and warm enough for swimming), then up to watch the sunrise on the summit. Then over to Volunteer and Piute, rained pretty much the entire way out.

Ultralight overnighter out of Twin Lakes. Took 13h via Horse Creek Pass, Matterhorn Pass, Benson Pass and Volunteer Peak. Bivied at Rodgers Lake. The next day went to Benson Lake and climbed Piute. Hiked out through Kerrick Canyon and Peeler Lake in rain and snowfall. Beautiful fall colors. One of the most beautiful areas in the Sierra.

Volunteer-Pettit dayhike out of the Virginia Lakes TH, a tough outing. Not necessarily the most aesthetic peak from almost any vantage point, but the views were superb. Last person to sign in was up there exactly a year ago to the day.
