Spent two cold days bagging the High Peaks. Hit Algonquain, Coldon and Gray, spent a brutally cold night in a lean-to then hit Skylight, Marcy and Phelps. We were past peak for the foliage thus making this a cold, overcast and gloomy adventure.

Everytime I've been up here it has been snowy and hardly any views. But once we found a snowman on the summit. I'm pretty sure that a peak bagger didn't make that.

Beautiful day, we hiked with my parents the trail was a little washed and trickey footing with the exposed roots, but the summit was worth it all. Over all easy climb and great trip

A relatively easy hike in from the Loj to Phelps. Great views from Marcy Dam, and from the top. Clouds rolled in immediately after we reached the summit, but there were a few excellent viewpoints beforehand.

As Chris mentioned, Pat, Chris, and I made it to the top for sunrise. Phelps provides decent 180 degree views, and the summit would've been average at best if it weren't for the time of day and the weather. The sunrise coming over the east side of the mountain and shining on Marcy was a great way to start the day. After that I couldn't wait to get down to the Noon Mark diner for some pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and coffee.

At 3:30 in the morning three of us left our tent at Marcy Dam. We took on the first mile with no problem and then the second mile became a little tougher especially in the dark.
Watching the sunrise and the light expand across the other mountains was an incredible view. Old Mountain Phelps would have been proud of his mountain and the views of Marcy that it displayed.

Quick ascent and a napMade it up from heart lake in about 35-40 minutes and took a nice nap on a warm june day.

We were down the mountain before 7am.
