Phoca Rock
View of the south and east faces of Phoca Rock with the route outlined. There is easy scrambling around to the south face and a couple dirt class 4 moves to make one's way upward to the summit. -8/30/09

you may hold the record for the lowest elevation summit on the site! I've wondered about Phoca for years and you have piqued my interest once again - now I'll have to row out there and give it a try.

Thanks! I was inspired after seeing Phoca detailed on one of the early climbing guides to the Gorge. If you're in the area, I highly recommend a paddle below the cliffs of Cape Horn. In latest summer one can land on the shore below the cliffs. I particularly recommend a scramble up to the base of the Cape Horn Falls. :-)
