Photo: 5/14/2004. On Feb 23, 1943, this twin-engined transport plane was en route from Pueblo to Denver in overcast conditions. At 1205h it missed clearing the NNW ridge of Blodgett Peak and crashed into the ridge at an elevation of about 8600'. The wreckage is still there and is easily visible from the ridgetop when you get to the area.

For the truly nerdy, this wreckage can be just barely made out in satellite photography available on Google Maps or in Google Earth.
