I have created this thread in the hopes that people will nominate photos that they deem worthy of photo of the week. Hopefully this will give those "less recognized" photos a chance. There are some really great ones out there that sometimes don't even get seen.

So PLEASE post your nominations here each day that you feel should get more votes.
Thanks.

PLEASE ONLY NOMINATE PHOTOS THAT HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED WITHIN THE LAST WEEK. PHOTOS THAT HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED BEFORE THEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PHOTO OF THE WEEK.

ALSO, NO SELF-SUBMISSIONS PLEASE!

THANK YOU!!

Here is my current nomination: http://www.summitpost.org/image/213781/152307/dark-sky-from-north-canyon.html Very Happy

Great idea!! Both of those photos are certainly worthy of photo of the week.

It's not an issue yet, but I would like to suggest only nominating photos that are not your own. Keep those cameras clickin'!

I agree, PLEASE!! don't nominate your own photo.

Hopefully this thread will stay popular enough to get more high quality pictures seen.
Thanks!!!

Gee, thanks, JasonH! However, my own pick is from the top of one of those dunes (no, not my own image)!

Thank you, Mark!
This whole area from Agnew Meadows to Cecile Lake is like a land of charm. Each lake on your way is more beautiful than the one before.
As photos go, I do prefer your image with the dunes.

I believe the ground rules were to recommend a new image daily. Here's my latest submission:

http://www.summitpost.org/view_object.php?object_id=214695&confirm_post=4

I commented to the owner that it'd be nice to have a better title than "User Profile Image", as well as a caption. I feel that good, relevant titles and captions are an important element of an image page. Normally I probably wouldn't give a 10 to this image because of this (I wouldn't give any rating, truth be known). After all, it's a page we should be evaluating, not just the image. But this user appears to be doing something wrong; all his images are called "User Profile Image" (and he has a number of excellent ones, OBTW!). So I guess I'm giving a little allowance to this young man until he learns how to use SP.

I must say I have really enjoyed seeing some of the photos that you guys have suggested. Some of which I would have never seen had it not been for you guys nominating them. I would like to ask in order to keep this thread to a minimum that you limit your suggestion to one a day, if you happen to see one you like better than feel free to edit your submission and make a new link to that photo. Please when you are submitting your nominations, please limit the words to phrases, such as, "I like this one" followed by the link. Also please refrain from quoting others, even if they are complementing you. This will help keep the post to a minimum, as well as avoiding a double clicking opportunity for the photo that was suggested. I guess with the previous version of SP people trying to gain photo of the week status was quite a problem. I don't see that happening here yet, but I would like to keep it simple so that this thread can be more of a benefit than a hindrance. Thanks again for all of your wonderful submissions.
