Is Vincent Gap open from the east? The SP page for Baden-Powell says that it's closed as of September 30, 2009. It also said that the gap was 5.5 miles west of Big Pine. This page says the ACH is open to 6.5 miles west of Big Pine: http://www.dot.ca.gov/cgi-bin/roads.cgi

Anyone been up there recently?

Last report I got from a local was that they've closed ACH WEST of Vincent Gap. So, if you're coming from Wrightwood, you can reach VG.

Ran up Baden Powell (and back) from Inspiration last Saturday. Road is open to Vincent Gap from Wrightwood. The gate is locked there.

Thanks for the information. However, after some careful consideration regarding time, distance and other factors, I decided to go to Baldy instead. I'm sure this would be helpful to many others though (when I searched the web, I found nothing)

If you need more info on the San Gabe's, there's a link in my profile to a forum for SG'ers.
