Alger Creek, Silver Lake area

by Bob Burd » Tue Jan 26, 2010 3:46 am

Has anyone hiked/scrambled up Alger Creek directly from the Rush Creek TH? I'm wondering if this is a possible alternative to reach Alger Lakes versus taking the Rush Creek and Parker Pass Trails. Summertime, of course. Thanks in advance...

Nice picture, thanks - helps a lot. The 7.5' topo map shows some close contours around the 9,400foot level with a "Falls" noted as well, just around the corner to the left from the view in the picture. I'm wondering if that could be a problem getting through or not.

And yes Pete, the goal is to get to Blacktop.

From what I've heard the use trail is good for dayhiking but too rugged for backpacking.
