Not an article, its more an incomplete album with only one pic. User Lazarescu has quite a bunch of "one picture albums" ....

I have an idea of what they are talking about, but it certainly does not belong here on SP.

Looks like this page was started in 2007 and hasn't been touched since.

I've seen worser pages with lots of 10/10 votes! The page is labeled "This page is under construction". The author signed the log hence showing to us they actually went there. Not saying it's a worthy page, but perhaps give em a little more time... it was created less than a week ago. Your comment was posted today hence not giving them a lot of time to see it.

We don't want the standards bar to drop, but at the same time we don't want new members dropping. Seems like it's his first page, so perhaps he's not up to speed on what we expect here on SP. What is acceptable on Mountain Project is likely not acceptable on SummitPost. But once their grace time expires, then we can raid in.

I think it is time to ding these pages:

Taylor Mountain
Coyote Peak

I do not think they are sufficient to begin with, but there is a good chance that the lone image submitted is not even his. Moreover, it is not of Taylor Mountain, but of Cooks Peak.

These peaks are worthy of SP pages and I hoped the owner would do something with them but as they are now, they are sub-par and lacking any/appropriate images. I am a bit persnickety about this area, since I grew up outside of Santa Rosa and still consider it my home turf.

Grace time expired. They seem to be less active too.

Both are now gone.

The info was taken from Wikipedia. At first I was going to play nice until I found out how bad of a job it was. :? Someone signed the climber log which I sent a PM with the details to that owner of the climber log (not to be confused with the owner of the page). The possibility of the image being stolen made their case even worse.

I also did some more nuking to some other terrible pages. (and trust me, they were worse than the ones Bubba mentioned)

Another empty page:

http://www.summitpost.org/colony-baldy/844200

Perhaps a script that reads the number of words typed into a new page could be written to catch these blank pages. E.g. if you type in less than 20 words, a warning pops up or the page is deleted automatically.

Have you climbed this route? Someone signed the climber log which means we would have to delete that first before deleting the page. A new owner can be assigned but agreed that the page is lacking. Keep in mind any page that gets a new owner can be placed up on the re-worked section of the frontpage. So far it's been a major success. People are starting to get the votes they deserve. The only part is that they have to report it to the Reworked Pages forum. But if you think it's beyond saving I could nuke it.

That would be easy. But even better is a system that does not allow you to post the page without text or X amount of characters (letters written). The page is both new and under construction which is why I'll give them a little more time. Some encouragement would be good folks.
