Was there on Monday and it was awesome. Some really good hard blue ice going up the chutes. We thought it'd be all pow and just went to boot it up but got thwarted by a few inches of fresh over nice blue ice.

I wanna snowboard Saddleback some day. How much snow was up there? Almost nothing I'm sure, but one of these winters I know it'll be cold enough with enough precip that it will happen.

Cool pic from Mt. Waterman, taken last Sunday, confirms that we never get any real powder in SoCal

Skiied backside (N) of thunder today, snow was variable from soft silky powder to sunbaked crust.

Hope that we get some fresh this weekend and get chair 4 opened again

There was still cold smoke and plenty of face shots on the North side of Baden-Powell on Tuesday...and only a single track from Monday which was a holiday :?

Where did you go?

We went to the bottom of the zen(?) chute before having to stop and change plans.

It wasn't a whole lot of it, but under about 3 inches of powder it was hard smooth blue ice. a few guys with crampons decided it was too much for them.

Was reading some discussion about skiing this weekend at Mt. Baldy ski lifts...
Aside from the runs, they had weak coverage, I don't know to blame the sun or wind but there was... so much exposed rock and dirt I destroyed my new Magne Traction board.

They nailed everyone for an extra $10 for a ticket. Traffic was a nightmare, it took 1 1/2 hours to get down the hill, stop and go. Almost the same going up. They over sold and lift lines were sick.

Then the Rangers gave everyone outside the lot a ticket for not having an Adventure pass.

It's hard to have a bad day boarding, but this was shite...

Meanwhile...far from the lift lines and thin snow coverage, the north side of the San G's was like heaven :)

Has anyone been up recently? How are conditions looking for a sunday ascent? Also, is anyone else going to be up there?

I thought about going up to Mt Baldy this coming Sunday, but after looking at the weather report I'm going to pass.

I did make it to the top on Sun, Mar 6. It was sunny when I started. While on the summit the clouds were just beginning to roll in. It was really windy at the top as usual, I'm guessing 25-30 mph gusts. I started to descend and shortly after the summit disappeared behind clouds.

I may knock around Icehouse Canyon Sunday. If it's not too bad maybe Timber? We'll see.

Should be real nice. Not much on the ground before Icehouse Saddle at the moment, so I figure whatever is falling while you're up there is all you'll really have to deal with.

It's all coming down Sunday PM, gotta love the winds too. :D

Didn't make it out. Mama kept me up til 1:30 Sunday morning so an early start was out of the question. Think I'll pack Friday night so I don't get lazy Saturday so I can play Sunday. Want to get back out before it melts out.
