80 MPH? Where do you see that forecast? MountainForecast.com shows a max wind of 40MPH on Saturday.

I'll be up there this weekend too.

Our summit day is Monday. Looks to be a little calmer then but with a chance of light snow.

If you make it there, I'd be curious what you find for conditions in Crescent Moon.

Not to butt in here, but I just figured I would throw out that I have a large guest house up here in Shasta and if anyone needs a place to crash, we are always glad to have the place get used. A few summitposters have stayed in the past and it always seems to work out well. Just so y'all know...

I haven't seen the mountain thus far today. Black Butte blocks the view from my house, unfortunately. I can tell you that I have been outside all morning clearing brush and it is really windy. I reckon it is likely to be more so on the mountain. Weather is great though!

In a white dress Mt Shasta looked pretty as always; however, in order to gain her heart this time, more work was required.

For most of the weekend we had a beautiful sunshine with occasional whiteouts and snow/hail falls. Some people summited on Saturday. I’m not sure if anyone summited on Sunday but quite a few tried.

Up to the Heart it was reasonably calm but on higher elevations winds had their own party and tried to keep away uninvited guests. In other words, the weather was very interesting but only for those who like the challenge or complete ignorants.

Later I may include some video.

ScottyP, I will likely be attempting a solo one-day ascent via Avalanche Gulch on Mon because of high winds on Sun morning. If you are going on the same day, then perhaps we can join forces.
