Chimborazo

Anybody know current conditions? I am being told very dry and impossible to climb, I was going on Nov 2 for a 9 day trip. thanks

Hi!

Yes, there's a general drought affecting most of Ecuador, and this affects Chimborazo also.

The traditional route through the western flank is with almost no snow at all, so you have to climb a lot, which makes it dangerous.

But there is an option to do it through another route in the east face, sleeping in high altitude camps, and which requires to be very well acclimatized.
