Update: As of today 3/1/10, the road is open through Big Tujunga. Closed gate will be encountered at SnowCrest. Looked like they were plowing beyond that, so maybe it'll be open to Islip Saddle soon. Snow level starts at around Newcombs Ranch.

This ain't my neck of the woods, but this hwy leads to Horse Flats bouldering area, Pacifico, Tunnel Crags, Williamson Rock. How far can I get? Is it open to Horse Flats? I heard the forest was all closed due to the fire last year, and the road is jacked due to weather.

In case anyone's interested...Angeles Crest Highway is OPEN all the way THROUGH from Tujunga to Wrightwood. We were up there today as far as Dawson Saddle Elevation 7901 feet. Still lots of snow for skiing, right down to the highway!

Lots of snow still on Baden Powell, there were a number of boarders and skiers there yesterday, and they have the jibs set up at Angeles Crest Beach 8)

We skiied Throop Peak, and it was quite good, except for the high winds that kicked up in the afternoon.

Here's a 30 second video of my friend James P. skiing the final section back to the road...

Sweet! Great news!

Also, so it's not open between La Canada and Tujunga?

Correct, Angeles Forest Highway is closed between Big-T and ACH. And ACH is closed from La Canada to the Mt. Wilson Road.
