In terms of the slowness... is it possible that someone is intentionally thrashing the site, with automated inquiries? I recall a former member showing how easy it was to raise the "views" of a certain object via automated script.

How about adding a tracker system for Bugs and feature requests, a bit like Sourceforge project uses?

Like that we could see what bug is assigned to whom, when it was assigned, the progress, priority etc.

Feature requests could also carry the same type of info's such as how many users have voted or requested it.

Now I'm not saying we should do this (the more integrations, perhaps the slower the log in) but here is a idea that would "work". Matt I've seen you work with joomla before and I'm pretty sure they got quite a few tracker systems for this kind of stuff. And then it can be integrated into phpbb3 which would be integrated into the site. Now I'm not saying that is how it should be done, but I don't think you would have to develop any new software is what I'm saying.

I haven't been on SP in a while and came by to take care of some maintenance, thanks to SP's very nice email notification system. SP is running amazingly slow. Even switching between forums and adding this edit is REALLY slow.

People are bound to lose interest and patience. I hope Matt can fix the problem soon.

I noticed at 7:40 MST, I was the ONLY forum visitor on SP.

I'll admit it's still slow, but there was a time a week or so (I forget exactly when) that it went painfully slow. The fixes then made things much nicer and then now it's starting to go slow again (although not as bad). Mbpost is probably 20 times faster than this site! :lol:

Thank goodness to the multi uploader tool, if it were not for that tool I would rarely be able to post photos. :wink:

I will admit when the site is faster I may be inclined to post more information related stuff.

Well good news and bad news on how sp is working for me.

The good news is that voting and page viewing seems faster! The bad news is not only are photos lagging a lot, but many are not even displaying! Anyone else having the same issue? Even some of the avatar photos in this forum page are not displaying... and they are tiny.

Edit: Yay! Now everything is back to alright speed! Seems slightly faster than before. :wink:

If that was your fix, thumbs up!
