Thank you Blair! It's hard to take a bad picture out there. :)
Picture #73 would be my friend Andy climbing on a glacier at the base of the Minarets, in the Ritter Range. This following picture (#63) displays the glacier pretty well: http://picasaweb.google.com/bushidanny/ ... 6409452434
If approaching from Lake Ediza (East), you can see the glacier as you gaze West towards the Minarets: http://picasaweb.google.com/bushidanny/ ... 9885166946 (It's the lowest one in the picture, near the middle)

You should totally takes your skis in that area! However, this glacer would probably not offer a very long ride.. A few minutes at best. I am sure there are better spots around though!

Thank you as well dskoon! Yup, stood on top of Ritter and was surrounded by dark clouds, pouring down on nearby mountains. Luckily, Ritter spared us its wrath... Man, it was such an awesome experience! But to be back on topic, the fall colors were amazing -- check it out next fall!

Moose Tracks, your photos are really marvelous. It's nice too to see the details aren't lost on you either.

Kathy, How about starting a Fall 2011 to avoid scrolling through several pages of last year's photos.

I'm leaving this morning for two weeks of going deep into Sequoia and Kings Canyon. After returning, I'll be sure to post any relevant photographs. Fall is my favorite season of year. I like the earthy fall fragrance as much as the warm colors. The light is spectacular, too.

No pictures, but on a modest scale, many of the currant and gooseberry shrubs along the south fork of Big Pine route were already bright yellow. A few water birches were also starting to show yellow. No aspens yet, although some of the cottonwoods in Owens Valley are starting to turn a little pale too.
