The Mount Shasta area got about only a light dusting of snow on Thursday night. My place is about 400 feet higher than town and we got 3 inches. It has been sunny and cold since. The high country got more snow, but I am not sure how much. Forecast for this area is rain and mid 50's for the foreseeable future.
Snow is down to about 5,000 here in Shasta but that is pretty light. My house is at 4,000 and there is a chance of snow at that level tonight, though I rather doubt it. Other than that, we have rain in the forecast for the next few days and then some sun. It will be nice Christmas tree cutting up here...
Saying it is a complete bust is sort of like saying, "I didn't get the biggest toy, so I didn't get anything at all", when you got a pretty dam nice toy. It was a wet, early storm with a lot of rain, and it did snow, just up higher. Yes, a lot of the rain runs off, but in to reservoirs, and it still saturates soils.
