I've got a question about gear pictures posted on summitpost. I've noticed that most of the pictures posted in SP gear have a white background which could only mean one of a few things.

1. The pictures were taken from someone else or from another website
2. They used a completely white background when they took the photo
3. They used photoshop to create the white background

I'm curious partly because I want to submit gear pages but one of the reasons I haven't was because I was unsure of the best tactic for the picture(s).

I'm trying to attach the cover image for the book I've reviewed in the Gear section, but it doesn't come up in the searches. Is this just a "give it a minute for the image to propagate across the servers" thing, or is there something I'm missing?

- Go to http://www.summitpost.org/outdoor-gear/fred-beckey-s-100-favorite-north-american-climbs/8217
- Select Edit Page
- At Primary Image ID, select Find Image
- At dialog, select My Images Only, unselect This Object's Children Only, select Newest First radio, enter "Cover image" into text box, select Search
- Return below is No names match your query

I'm guessing this has something to do with SP Gear not being fully integrated with SP itself somehow.

Have you tried to enter the image id 789884 directly instead of using Find Image?

I hadn't tried that, actually. Just tried it, and still no love. Worth a shot, though, so thanks. Hm...
