Lassen peak conditions....

by yosemiteforlife67 » Sat Jun 21, 2014 4:38 am

Hello, can anyone tell me what conditions are like up at Mt Lassen right now? I am thinking of going up there next Saturday(June 28) and wanted to know how accessible Lassen National Par, is, and also Mt Lassen. Usually it is snowed in this time of year.....but of course this year is different than most years. Any info on this would be helpful.

Lassen national park is getting pretty melted out. The peak is melted out too, which means it is inaccessible now due to a large ongoing trail maintenance. The park however should be mostly open and widely accessible. Also, the park website is more-up-to-date than most with regard to current conditions.

I hiked Brokeoff peak in the park and nearby Crater Peak/Magee two weeks ago and encountered almost zero snow.

Have fun, bring Deet!
