Merry Christmas - Facebook invades SummitPost

by PellucidWombat » Fri Dec 24, 2010 3:36 am

So this evening began as innocently as most. I was nerding out with Microsoft Excel , SAP, a tape measure, and my trad gear (don't ask), while goofing off on Facebook with my friend (let's just let him be anonymous and call him 'Vittles'). My friend Alan from SLC stared chatting with me on Facebook. Then I hopped on to Summitpost to do some stuff, and the chat bar was still there. Funny thing, though - my contacts had changed to SP'ers! What?!

Is it just me, or is this a tad weird? I'm tempted to look at the "Applications", but I'm a little wary. Perhaps I'm a bit reactionary here? Any thoughts from the SP community? At the very least, this new chat feature can add a whole new level to "Off-Route"

does the chat have anything to do with that fact that pictures are freezing on the home page?

Now it's easier to see at a glance who is on SP way too much, and who just leaves it on in the background

Wow this chat thing is funny. I have my chat bar turned off on my facebook because I always get bugged on there. It might be useful on here though....

Before I can chat with anyone we'll have to meet face to face.
