How was the rock band up top to surpass?


Here's a photo from inside the shaft, little claustrophobic if you're all the way in the back side tunnel . We fit five guys pretty easily and sitting side to side made passing the whiskey a lot easier.

The rock band was mellow and climbable in boots. If I remember right you could make it more challenging staying to the east or more 4th class staying to the west.

Photo by Daria on the way to Black Kaweah in December. The first is near Pear Lake and has pretty straightforward access (at least on skis). The latter is over 20 miles from the nearest trailhead, but it does look exciting! A couple of the pillars collapsed a few minutes after that shot was taken.
