Mountain Hardware Is Very Dog Friendly

by Jerry L » Tue Nov 01, 2011 2:34 pm

Don't post much anymore but I felt compelled to share this story with the membership here. I recently shipped my 10 (+/-) year old Mountain Hardware down coat for repairs. I enclosed a note with the coat explaining that a rescue dog that I was fostering had chewed the zipper, the drawcord, and ripped the material in several places. I loved the coat and was hopeful that it could be repaired. A representative from Mountain Hardware called me yesterday and told me that my coat was beyond repair but because they are a "dog friendly company" that they would ship me a brand new coat at no cost. They told me that they do things such as this several times each year. I've always been a fan of their gear, own a ton of it, but I was really floored at their generosity.

Cool! My rescued yellow lab has provided hundreds of "stories." He has been a big part of shifting me from mostly mountain biking/cycling to mostly tral running and hiking. Many of my dog stories that are absent of a downside were helped out by another dog friendly company (great gear for trail running/hiking with dogs in addition to winter sport stuff):

My puppy found my brand new Western Mountaineering 0 degree bag and thought it was the best potty pad ever. I still have (and love) the bag. And the dog too.
