I've done it as part of a team. It's cool, but probably not worth a 600 mile ($200-300) drive.

I've done it several times as a solo. I on the other hand think it is WELL worth the travel and cost. One of the best organized races I've ever done. The whole town gets into it and for this time of year it's as good as any race out there. The atmosphere is awesome and you'll get to race against some of the best multisport athletes anywhere. I've got several friends headed down this year for about their 25th consecutive year.
