Norway celebrates 50 years Tirich Mir climbing anniversary

Mr. Ralph Hoibakk the 1st scaler of Tirich Mir East 7692m is coming to Chitral-Pakistan with other 4 climbers in August to celebrate his 50 years anniversary of his first attempt. The main peak Tirich Mir 7708m was also climbed for the first time by another Norwegian expedition in 1950, which was led by the famous philosopher Arne Naes.

Climber Involved in Rescue Issued Citation

This is not just. The rescuer spent several hours with the fallen climber, including building an anchor to secure the victim to the ledge he was on. He waited until SAR arrived to take the injured climber away. After it was all over with, he was issued a citation for interfering with the rescue! How about using a little discretion here?

Ski touring in China/ Mongolia

Does anyone have any information or experience in ski touring the Altai Mtns on the border of NW China and Mongolia? A small group of us are planning in the early spring to do a trek from Altay, China across the border to Ulgii, Mongolia.
