I plan to spend Oct and Nov 2017 in NZ and looking for partners to attempt Mt. Cook.
I'm 32 years old, practicing rock and alpine climbing for about 6 years including various high altitude and technical peak ascents around the world and I have most of the gear required for Mt. Cook.

On my trips to the Big Island of Hawaii I have had the opportunity to hike down into both Pololu and Waipio Valleys and up the trails on the far rims towards Honopue and Waimanu Valleys respectively. I have wondered if the Awini Trail connects the the Northeast Coast together or is it a jungle bushwack beyond the above mentioned valleys making a connection between the roads at either end a near impossibility?
