Too early for Jeff?

We're having some insanely nice weather... my climbing partner is planning a trip up Mt. Jefferson in mid-March (Pamela Lake Route).

I don't see anyone signing the climber's log yet this season, and I hear about the ice and rime on the summit pinnacle. On the other hand, the traverse probably has a lot of cover, and maybe the nice weather will make the pinnacle less rimey.

Anyone have any recommendations? I was suggesting Hood, ...

North Cascades climbs in September

I will visit the North Cascades area around the middle of September and was planning to do some of the classical climbs there, possibly with a guide since I will travel on my own.

What are the climbs usually still in condition at that time of the year? do you have a guiding service to suggest?
I have some mountaineering experience in the Alps (up to PD+/AD routes), though often with a mountain guide, and ...

Partners needed for a potential full year of travelling

OK so here's what's going down. Due to the extremely low gas prices, it looks like I may be done working for quite some time. I am planning to take full advantage of this since I have some money saved up, and am looking for people who want to join me for parts of this year for multiple big trips. I'll describe briefly what I am hoping to accomplish this year and if anyone is ...

Buckner Mountain North Cascades

So I have been doing some online researching and it appears at Buckner Mountain (or Mount Buckner) has mainly had summits from the west, or north face. However, I was wondering if it had been done, or even if its possible (without ice axes) to summit Buckner from the east side, via park creek pass.

This also would be in March '15.

Thank you!

Liberty Cap Partners for December attempt?

Hey I'm looking for someone interested in going up Liberty Cap this December if we get any good weather windows. I know it's early winter so I'd put success around 50% but it'd be nice to give it a try. I've been up Rainier once and had a few attempts since then with the most recent being in April. We turned around then because of too much loose snow on our route. I admit, don't ...

Lost: Camera on upper north ridge of Mt. Stuart

Actually it isn't lost, because I am almost certain I know its exact location. That however, doesn't do me much good.

The scenario:

This weekend a friend and I went and tackled the complete north ridge with ridiculously heavy packs.

Generally, after finishing the Gendarme (including the 5.8 crack), climbers traverse/rappel/down-climb into the gully to the west. Then ascend up past the fixed #3. At that point I went up and left to a large ...
