Mobile app API?

Hello SP,
we are a collaborative team taking a mobile application design class for Colorado Mesa University, and would like information to access the SP API.
Our final project will be an interactive google map that uses GPS data to display location and information for nearby hikes and climbs. If we could use your massive database to back-end this project, that would be awesom. The finished product will be a deployed application, cross platform for ...

Signal de Botrange

At the moment, there are two pages named "Signal de Botrange" and I think that's wrong.

The older one is an Area page, the newer a Mountain/Rock page. However, they both describe the same thing.

Signal de Botrange is the high point of Belgium. For that reason, I believe it deserves a Mountain/Rock page. Otherwise it would simply be the highest point of a very large, virtually flat plateau.

The plateau lies in the "Hautes ...

Relating Area/Range pages

Wondering if it's possible to Relate two Area/Range pages to each other? Or make one a Child of another one? To consider:

Chile/Argentina Lake District Area/Range: http://www.summitpost.org/lake-district ... ina/307837
Patagonia Area/Range: http://www.summitpost.org/patagonia/171078
'The Frey' Area/Range: http://www.summitpost.org/the-frey/518464
'Cerro Catedral' Mountain: http://www.summitpost.org/cerro-catedral/151997 (with no coordinates / mapability)

Physically, Cerro Catedral is a peak ...

Finding parent objects with accents in names

Just wondered why we cannot find Hochkönig when we want for example to attach an album or a route that refers to it. We can type Hochkonig without the ö, same. I suspect hundreds of pages to be orphanes on SP just for this reason. As far as I know there is only the french é & è that do not cause this bug. Is there any way to fix it ?

Range Parentheticals

This is a small detail, but also one that affects everybody's pages to some degree.

One minor but useful feature of SP is the association of a parenthetical with the name of a mountain, generally indicating its range or region. So, for example, if you were to look at Gangolf's profile, you would see that his Reidberger Horn is associated with "(Allgau Alps)" whereas his Madari is associated with "(Cyprus)."

I have noticed that this ...

Lone good pages that need to be attached

Quite often, on SP, I see good pages (albums, peaks, routes), in most of such case when created by a recent member, which are not attached to anything, for various reasons. Some do not fully understand how to attach pages, some are not aware of this feature, some people focusing too much about the content forget about this aspect. In some cases the owner(s) of the parent or related objects can remedy to it, but ...

Object possession: Owner or Caretaker?

Anybody know what happened to the Adam's Peak page from Sri Lanka? I can only guess that a disgruntled owner left the site and deleted all his objects. Now all I can find is two route pages with no parent:
http://www.summitpost.org/route/159914/carney-route.html

What is the rationale for letting people destroy their objects as a parting gesture to SP? I consider this is a major flaw of the SP design. This site a great place for people ...

Alabama Hills Pages.....What A Mess!

Ok, seeing how the response from some page owners have either been ignored or brushed off, I'm asking the elves to help "clean up" the overall order of things for the Alabama Hills AREA. I'm seeing ROCKS (ie walls, formations etc) within the Alabama Hills listed as "routes" (???) and formations listed as being identified as something other than the rocks with the AREA.

Area & Ranges = Alabama Hills
Mountain & Rocks = The ...
