Here in the UK it is the start of Winter.


Just for clarification, according to who?

I have never heard anyone using that definition.

It would certainly not be considered a winter ascent in the Himalaya.

Interesting thread though.

A committee in Nepal is recommending that the government ban an Indian couple who faked there summit claim with a 10 year ban on Mount Everest.

Everest Attempt Postponed

Kilian Jornet returns from Everest without having climbed the world’s highest mountain. Bad weather conditions during the final stage of the expedition have forced him to abandon the attempt to climb Everest via the north face.
