Couple of albums with the same name, 3 pictures between them. Not sure where this is even of to attach elsewhere.

There are duplicate pages for Petit Griffon Spire, Western Summit in California. The original page was constructed in 2002, another one was added 2014.

Found the two route pages. So, these two pages are the same exact route (it appears so)? I see they both go to the west summit and use the notch.

There shouldn't be more than one route page for the same route.

If they are the same route, you could PM the owner or I could. Just let me know.

Scott, I just returned from three months in England and Scotland. Apparently, some time ago, this chap was asking to have Petit Griffon page available to him. I didn't see the post till this morning.

Here is the link want-to-adopt-petit-griffon-t67950.html

I would prefer the SP management handle this according to SP rules. BTW. I don't think Petit Griffon is much of a separate mountain, either. It is a tower on a ridge between Mt Mills and Mt Abbot. But that can be debated by well meaning people.

Cheeers, Alois Smrz.

A new user has posted a duplicate page for Wildrose Peak. Someone needs to kindly explain to him that it's not kosher to create duplicate pages, or at least change his mountain/rock page to a trip report page and explain it to him. I don't want to discourage him from contributing, but it needs to be done in the right way.

Changed. I'm guessing they thought that a page type was a category for the a trip report.

It looks more like a summit log than a trip report.

It looks like the newest contributor and the second last are the same person:

http://www.summitpost.org/users/kikerik ... rde/122392

Anyway, it seems that the only Vosges area page which should stay is the one by visentin.

Yep, I believe they are. Perhaps GRAF Christophe forgot about his earlier alter ego?

I agree as far as the Vosges is concerned. However, the page http://www.summitpost.org/the-alsace-an ... ges/913374 covers a larger area than just the Vosges, therefore it's not a duplicate. It could in fact be a parent of the Vosges area page. In his defense, these pages are still under construction.

I'm not home right now, but unless someone else does so sooner, I'll get in contact with him later this week and explain a few things. And I'll also mention that using ALL CAPS a lot is considered shouting, and therefore rude. THERE IS NO NEED TO HAVE PAGE NAMES IN ALL CAPS, if you catch my drift.

I've just sent him a long private message.

Before doing so, I read the comments you referred to as well as his reactions. That was useful because it gave me a better idea of how to approach him and of what I had to explain. First of all, it's positive that he reacted. He makes it perfectly clear that he wants to write his pages without coauthors, which is of course his prerogative. But it also appears to me that he either didn't read or didn't understand New to SP or the FAQ. Specifically, he isn't aware of the rule of having no more than one page about any particular mountain or particular area.

The comment by chugach mtn boy points out that his Vosges page is a duplicate, and suggests cooperation with the owner of the original page, which Christophe turns down. However, the comment doesn't mention that it is in fact a rule on SP that we allow at most one page on any particular mountain or area. I've explained this to him. And I told him that If he wants to keep his pages for the Vosges and the Ballon d'Alsace, he still can, but only if he uses a different page type, e.g. Custom Object or Article. I'll give him a few days to react. If nothing happens, I'll change the duplicate pages to Custom Objects.
