Seems as if the US segment of SP moved to Mountain Project. Lots of overseas threads on SP.....Hardly any US unless it's Denali, Whitney, or Rainier. :(

Mountain Project seems mostly useful for cragging beta (and for bitching about crowded Denver-area ice climbs). The forums on both are mostly the usual noise.

"The Laughing Heart" by Charles Bukowski:

Your life is your life.
Don't let it be clubbed into dank submission.
Be on the watch.
There are ways out
There is light somewhere.
It may not be much light but it beats the darkness.
Be on the watch
the Gods will offer you chances
Know them. Take them.
You can't beat death but you can beat death in life
Sometimes.
And the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be.
This is your life. Know it while you have it.
You are marvelous. The Gods wait to delight in you.

The "demise" of summitpost is 100% the fault of the goddamned lazy-ass Summitpost Elves.

They are low-energy types who bring no energy to their jobs!

REPLACE them ALL with HIGH ENERGY types like President Donald J. Trump.

In the old American west there were dance halls where dance hall girls danced with stinky old men for a penny-a-dance.That's the job of the Elves! To rub up intimately against SP users...to make each forum gaily sparkle and shine by encouraging posters with seductive comments, positivity, and witty asides!

Dance, you goddamned Elves, dance!!

Let's Make Summitpost Great Again!!

So, let's hear some constructive ideas on how you plan to make Summitpost great again.

I remember a similar thread where the site was "dying off" five years ago, but nobody gave a shit then just as nobody gives a shit now.

Josh and I have tons of great ideas but they would require Matt turn over ownership of the site...but his flytraps have to sell so I'm not holding my breath :P

I must have been asleep, did Josh and Ryle transfer ownership?

In the past there were always hints of Matt having some interest in the ownership but to my recollection not the whole enchilada.

Matt (Lemke) ... you just have a sore spot (not a hemorrhoid that I know of) -- and it's because the Arizona Cardinals beat the pants off the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL game last Saturday ...

Seahawks don't deserve anything...they are trash this year. Then again...the cardinals have never been good... The last few years have been a total fallacy.

The only real team in the NFC this year is Dallas...as much as I hate to say that. I will never understand why Pete and John think a bunch of children will be able to protect Wilson and make running lanes.
Add to that we lost the best defensive player to ever play the game of football in the entire history of football (yes, Earl Thomas is THAT good) we are doomed. Our defense is not the same anymore, and I knew it the whole time if he ever got injured we were done.

YES :!: SWEET SUCCESS -- I completely changed the subject of this thread ... from the death of an outdoor website to FOOTBALL.

When you look at it (introspectively), they're pretty much the same. We have winners and losers in football, just like we have winners and losers on websites.

NOW, we all need to "come together" as a TEAM to keep Summitpost FRESH and ALIVE. -- Who's with me ??

YOU are an utter genius and extremely gifted person, Steve :!:

Let's just not make all these "new" changes have to wait five (stinking) years like the last time.

NOW is the time to make Summitpost great again!
