Happy 94th Birthday Fred Beckey!

Happy Birthday Beckey!
Not that he will view SummitPost or this thread. He isn't one to make a big deal out of birthdays.
Well, it is a big deal. So many decades of first ascents, exploring new areas, writing guidebooks and documenting mountaineering history. The man still has a vivid memory for details of early ascents.
He remains just as obsessive about climbing, though his body is not up to the approaches. He is still talking about writing more journal articles.
Cheers!

Yes, Happy Birthday Fred! Even at 94, I think he is still updating his green guide. Here is a photo of him working on it at the Porterhouse in Mount Vernon in February 2015.http://www.summitpost.org/fred-beckey-working-on-his-green-guide/992114
