Denali Training

What would you suggest for training for Denali? Where should I start? Suggestions for mountains? I have so far done Guadalupe Peak and Enchanted rock. I feel like Guadalupe will only teach you how often you should drink water and Enchanted will help you with balance, but neither are really 'good enough' to train for The Great One.

Nah, sounds to me like you're good to go. Book a flight and give it a shot.

A friend of a friend attached huge weighted truck tires to a hip harness and dragged them around a local regional park for most of a year before tackling Denali.
Nunc est bibendum.

Pulling a sled in the AK range is not physically difficult, in terms of effort expended, but is a trial of one's patience as the thing wants to run you over on down hills, slide away on side hills, flip over for no reason, etc. Having climbed for many years and made a number of trips to the AK Range, I can say the single most useful experience that prepared me for pulling a sled was raising a petulant 3 year old child.

I'm going on 12/1. Gonna do a solo winter climb with no equipment, all because of you. Thanks for the confidence boost.

But have your raised a petulant three year old child? That and climbing Rainier in winter are the two closest approximations to climbing Denali. Maybe winter camping in Minnesota can substitute for Rainier.

Nope, but based on what Stinkysox77 said, I'm sure I can make a speed record for a solo winter climb.
