Issues Booking Flights On Aerolinas Argentinas

by Dave Daly » Tue Sep 18, 2007 7:14 pm

OK, I'm discovering that this airline does not have a good number for its reservation services. Anyone have a number for them other than (800)333-0276??

They are quite bad over the phone, it was the same in France.
We went to their agency : easier !

But maybe it's not in the same city for you.

We are simply trying to book flights round trip tickets from Buenos Aires to El Calafate.....a very common route, especially during the peak season. Here's what I'm encountering:

A recorded message picks up and asks if you want the English options (press 1). It sends you to a "que" or recorded message/music in the background recorded message. It then holds you there for over 10 minutes, then drops the call. Consistant every time!! :x :x :x :x :x

Have you tried to book with LastMinute.com or something else, instead of going directly on their website ?

Hi Dave
Nowadays Aerolineas Argentinas is a private Company. The owners are from Spain. The service is not very good but you will be able to fly. I think "Lan" have flights to Calafate also. There are a lot of flights to Calafate.
Here are the the buses to go from Calafate to El Chalten.
Chalten Travel
0054 02902-492-212
Caltur
02902 492 217 / 491 368
"Rancho Grande" is a good Hostel with and without private bathrooms. Chalten Travel buses stop there.
