Personal Websites

Postby Cy Kaicener » Tue Jan 24, 2006 11:24 am

I love reading and discovering new personal websites. We used to have a thread a while back, but I cant find it. This is another way to discover and learn about new mountains around the world and become more familiar with some of our newer members and not so new members too.
What is your website?

Here is the website of member Rahel Maria Liu who died in a blizzard on Mt Blanc. She was a very talented lady and had a remarkably good website. May her memory live on http://mountainarea.alpi-ticinesi.de

That is a stunning website. It's very sad how people have died, some of them very prolific posters here. I am glad that the policy seems to be to keep their memory alive.

If you would like a list of some of the more well known climbers websites, here is a list to which you can add your own. Summitpost also has a list under Link Exchange at the bottom right hand corner of this page http://dirs.org/dir-wiki.cfm/Top/Recreation/Climbing/Personal_Pages

Perry has an excellent website if you are interested in doing the Cactus to Clouds trail from Palm Springs CA to Mt San Jacinto and some interesting local links http://www.geocities.com/cactus2clouds/skyline.html
For a technical climb up to San Jacinto there is the North Face via Snow Creek which is described in Summitpost's Mountains section.

We need a summitpost memorial page for all of our fallen comrades. A place where comments/memories and such could be left.

This is the first i'd heard of Rahels demise.
I'm bummed.

Although I haven't visited the site for some time, I wish I'd known sooner.

RIP girl

SP Version 2 with high resolution pictures and new features sounds like an ideal place for these two websites if agreed upon.
