Allalinhorn in February

by Langley » Mon Jan 14, 2008 11:43 am

Has anyone climbed the allalinhorn in February? I am there soon and want to pop up it whilst there skiing. Obviously pending on conditions dictates either skis or crampons.

I have climbed it before so know the timings and all that.

Thanks

Can be a fun ski both up and down but is is steep and there is no nice run-out at to bottom of any of the normal routes up it.

I would check the avi condtions and wheather or not the rather large crevases are safe to ski over the day before you decide on it.

You might have to cross an out of bounds area to get to the normal route so you risk loosing you lift pass.

Your better bet would be to do the Breithorn nice run-out at the bottom.
