Any recommendations for Hotels in Zermatt. I would like to keep it under USD $100 per day. No frills, just a nice room, private bathroom and friendly staff.

For under $100 the hostel (a very clean and nice one) is probably your best bet.

Check out the "annex" section of Hotel Antika. It offers very basic rooms but was very cheap during a weekday for us last year. Great views of the Matterhorn from the bridge next to the hotel as well!
