Well, they will be popular if everyone turns up. It's partly politics in Pakistan and Nepal, but more likely the new reduced fees.

It's about time. India has been out of favour in recent years due to their outdated and overly onerous fees and rules. The extra state fees charged in some areas are still ridiculous (Sikkim and Uttaranchal) but these changes open up a lot of peaks to small, cheap trips - including unclimbed 6000ers.
