I found a small bottle of champagne in the register (ammo can) on top of Mt langley. I also stumbled across a case of Budweiser in a dry streambed near the leanto on South baldface. It was undrinkable though. Of course, Bud is undrinkable even if it is cold, and fresh.

Bud is not American anymore... I drink for the taste as well, being female and having a smaller bladder I can't consume a six pack, so I'd rather spend $10+ on a 4-pack of extra hoppy yummy craft ale and split it with a friend - they usually have higher alcohol content anyway. More taste, more buzz - fewer bathroom stops Plus I always strive to drink local.

When I was down in Mexico recently one of my business hosts took me to lunch. We went to an open air taqueria. It was very hot and they had an open fire stone in there too.

As we ordered the waitress asked if we wanted beer. I raised an eyebrow and my friend quickly ordered two Sols. We were asked if we wanted lime and I said yes, si.

So yah, they served us two bottles and two glasses. The rims were salted and there were ice cubes in it too. Also, about a 1/4 inch of squeezed lime juice in the bottom. The beer bottles were also cold. We poured our own, clinked our glasses and....

My dad always took a bottle of beer on mountain trips when I was a kid. The beer usually was placed for chilling in a stream next to where we camped. On one occasion I remember him going to retrieve the beer only to find a snake had curled around the bottle. Half an hour or so later the snake had moved on, but I remember it a major event of the trip.
