Started by a pile o shit.

That is different, for a change.

No real damage done so far, except to some growers.

The price of lemons and avacados might go up some.

Some of the growers used their own workers and equipment to put out the fires. They claim the firefighters refused to go into groves because of the huge eucalyptus trees that line the groves and function as wind breaks. It was to dangerous.

It is dead calm outside right now and hopefully the fog will roll in, like last night.

That is really a big plane and it's so low.

The fire is about 2 miles away.

My comment is a couple days late and a dollar short, but there still remains a 'political
undertone' to all these horrible fires.

Thanks to the environmentalists, the forested areas were allowed to build to "tinderbox" conditions.

Thanks to the nut cases, the "tinderboxes" are bound to become raging infernos.

I don't think that you can point to "environmentalists" as having anything to with a fire burning in the chaparral.

Most plants of the chaparral re-sprout from the roots. Some require fire in order to spread their seeds. Many wildflower seeds also require fire to germinate.

Sorry folks, but the laws of nature are at play here. Chaparral require fire in order to continue it's existence.

And as Kerstin posted, so do many of the other indigenous plants all over California.

So fire is healthy and good for them all and their eco-system.

Nature doesn't play the time game as we humans do. It plays by it's rules which supercede our efforts to control them. Nature will win in long run.
