Appropriate you should show a photo of Julia. One of her great achievements was to take the kind of French recipes that only a cordon bleu trained chef could follow (e.g., prepare a brown stock. Mix with roux until thickened. Season.) and explain them in detail to American audiences so that an average housewife with no professional training could follow them. Old vs. new school cooking guidebooks, as it were.

She used to live nearby when I lived in Cambridge, MA by the way. She was a very tall woman (6'+). She must have stood out a bit when she was an OSS undercover agent in Paris.

Man, Julia looks a sickly mustard-color in that photo. Maybe she put that stuff she's whipping all over her face.

Propane or charcoal? Taste the meat, not the heat.

If you're on a long conference call and reading Summitpost to relieve the boredom, is it still working?

If someone climbs Mt. Hood quickly and no one sees them, is Dan Howitt still pissed off?

If a man says something in the woods and no woman is there to hear him, is he still wrong?

If you see a very "pissed off" llama in the woods, wouldn't it be best to leave it alone ???

Eat llamas, don't love them.

If a fellow's driving in the car with his mistress, would he still not stop and ask for directions?

Probably... but the woods aren't going to give him any flak about it - which, of course, is why he is in the woods with no woman to hear him in the first place, no? :)
