I take 81 mg of acetylsalicylate every morning before an ascent.

I also take a psychoactive stimulant drug that is a xanthine alkaloid; without this drug it is hard to get moving (in several ways).

No, that would be like using an asterik for a home run where a bat was used.

BTW, I use Diamox. But I've read on other boards (such as the Whitney Portal) that it is, ahem, unethical and that altitude issues should be addressed only with proper acclimitization and fitness.

What's unethical is telling others what they should and shouldn't do!

Agreed. Saw a Messner film recently and he seemed to climb only for deep personal reasons, wasn't to do it better than everybody else. I kinda like that.
