I've got the Mammut Champs and the Meteorites. I love em both, however I have had a few durability issues (which were repaired by Rainy Pass Repair courtesy of Mammut... Can't beat that!). The Loki pants Blair mentioned seemed to be the hot ticket. They are very similar in cut to the Mammut Courmayer. Way less cash too! One thing I really like about the Loki is that the fabric is the perfect thickness for all year use. Not too thick, not to thin.

Anybody know anything about the MH Winter Wander pants?

I've got both the Patagonia Guide and Arcteryx Gamma LTs (found each on sale and couldn't resist a deal). Both are great pants, perform well, and are more durable than you'd think from looking at them. The LTs are thinner and stretchier and probably best suited for the warmer end of your 30-50F scale, though if you wear them with long underwear would be good to 30F. They are great alpine rock climbing pants.

The Guides are thicker and warmer, and are particularly good for snow and ice. Some nice features of the Guides, not found on the Arcteryx Gamma LT, are an expandable pants bottom to fit over boots, a reinforcement panel on the inside pants bottom to protect against ski edges and crampon points, and a pair of grommets you can use with cord to tie the pants down under your boots if you find yourself in snow but without gaiters.

The Loki's have built-in gaiters too

I've never seen anyone comment on this, but I hate that most pants are available in black. I really like light colored pants so when you're coming down from something like Hood or Rainier in the blazing sun you don't roast. Had a tan pair of MEC ferratas that I liked a lot that are history, will probably replace them with the Patagonia Alpine Guide in gray.

Snowslogger-good point. I agree with you 100%, myne are tan, or 'goat' color as Loki insists

Hi, I already got the pants. Wow, they are very very nice. Soft/stretchy smooth fabric but seems like it can take abuse. The pants are a tad heavy although removing the integrated gaiters (which are very nice) makes them lighter if not needed i guess. The pants are not that thin so I expect them to do well in the cold but still breathe well. They seem like a very versatile piece of gear (exactly what I was looking for) The fit is quite nice, not too loose, not too tight. super comfortable to wear and they look good. im very impressed so far.

+1 for the Mammuts

I bought a pr of Patagonia Super Guides (I think they have been renamed now)a few yaers ago. Really nice pants, built in gators, come with suspenders, great construction.
Unfortunately they were much to long for my short legs and they sit unused in the bottom of a drawer.
