I got some info. Through a guy who talked to some people who had just been in Mexico.
Word was the Monsoon came in and might have laid down some new snow!

It's sort of like talking to myself on this thread, but there is a group that will attempt a ski of Orizaba around the last week of October. They should come off the mountain the day we go up... That should be good info!

Both too funnny...

CB - after what you did on Denali this year Orizaba is a cakewalk. Call me and I can walk you through all the 'opps' issues I've dealt with there. Cheers!

Cakewalk! Just be careful around the crevasse at about 17,200. I almost stubbed my toe in it. :D

Orizaba is in really great shape!
Three separate groups from Colorado skiied the mountain last week...

And most importantly, there are two new outhouses at Piedra Grande!

There's real outhouses at the Refugio?!? Thats awesome, should make the hut experience a little bit more comfortable this year.. For those of you who are going late season I will update conditions when I get back january 7th.

And to make the suspense even greater, I'll add this:
Our driver brought up a nice porcelein toilet seat when he came to pick us up.
I looked at it, and asked him what he was going to do with it. He said they were going to install it in one of the outhouses.
I'd love to see a picture of it installed. It may be nicer than the crapper I have in my condo.
