Yeah, isn't that crazy? I've been doing a bunch of research on stuff for a presentation. Poland, Britain, France, China, Spain, Italy, Norway, Japan, but no US.

A gal from Washington, I think, tried it in 1998 but I haven't heard anything more about it. I'll guess she didn't make it. To the summit, anyway.

Karrar, I support Edurne but I think that Oh is favourite here. Gerlinde could be runner-up as Pasabán

Julie Tullis (British), who I met many times, summited K2, but along with 3 others didn't make it back, 7/Aug/1986. Only Diemberger and Baur made it down.

She was also a master of the Sword.

Nope. She was denied the south face at 6900 m. She did do Everest, Broad Peak, Cho Oyu, Gasherbrum II, Lhotse, and Shishapangma as well as the Seven Summits. Not a bad resume but no K2.

Thanks, hon, but that won't even get me to DIA. And it's a looooong walk from Denver to Kathmandu.

So, question to youse debating who will be the first.

Do you drop bets on guys who have these kinds of aspirations in mind? 'Cause that's sure what it looks like. "I'm betting her but then the other is favored but I'll still hope this one takes the lead."

Sheesh. Women aren't horses on which to place bids. Try slapping one of them on the withers and see what happens.
