I went up the Ben Tyler trail from the north last weekend. The north facing slopes were holding a lot of snow in the trees. The Ute trail is south facing so there may be less but I would plan on taking snowshoes. You will probably need them as you get close to Bison Pass.
I drove the Tarryall Road yesterday and made a brief stop on the Bridge at the Ute Creek Trailhead. 3" there and someone had snowshoed. The view of Bison-McCurdy was far more red than white. Another warmer day here in Teller County today.
