Source For General Mountain Range Facts And Figures?

by Doublecabin » Thu Dec 17, 2009 4:18 pm

I am technomoronman, so my web search could not answer my specific question. Before I ask that is there a good source where Mountains, Ranges, etc., are ranked by length, size/acreage, height, etc?

I found ample sources for mountain ranges by length. I know from JimmyJay's Absaroka Page that the Absaroka Range ['depending on how you look at it'] is the largest range in the Rockies. Does anyone know where the Absaroka would rank globaly in terms of size/acreage?

Thanks for any help,

John

Well,

Thanks to everyone that gave it a shot. The Himalaya are apparently number 1 in acreage for Greater Ranges but I never got past that. Thanks again,

John
