Yea, my 5 year old did Alum Cave in tennis shoes....maybe they mean the dinner at the Lodge is dangerous, gave me heartburn once

The Alum Cave squirrels are pretty aggressive, that might be an objective danger we haven't considered.

Yeah, I guess that's extreme for the East Coast! I though The Precipice Trail would have made it on there before Alum Cave.

Or even Mt. Katahdin's knife edge?

There are hundreds of trails more dangerous in New England/New York than Alum Cave, and several in the south worse, but I agree none of those trails have the Rabid Vampire Squirrels of Le Conte!!!

And ironically I bet many would blanch at hiking the Kings Road nevertheless. I don't find that silly at all.

In terms of 'hiking' I think Stolby-Style trumps all.

Completely mesmerizing. I understand these folks have been doing this for a very, very long time, as in generations!

They may just be the boldest hikers in the world.

They may be bold but they aren't old. A kid falling off the rocks is pretty terrible.
