A-Hills Update.....

Postby The Chief » Tue Apr 27, 2010 1:25 am

OK, I have asked and have taken over the A-Hills Page from Misha.

Please give me feedback on what needs adjusting.

Also, here is an update of the current work both Jamie B and I have completed on the Anchor Replacements:

WESTERN WALL

- High Plains Drifter & Hang em High COMBINED to ONE ANCHOR
(the two original were no more than 26" apart so I put a new set in the middle of the original two locations to minimize the clutter).

- Call of the Canyon & Bad Day at Black Rock combo

- Boom Boom Mancini Lower Set

- Git Along Little Doggies Lower Set

- Giddyup Lower Set

THE LOAF(All routes on this formation were completed)

- The Pangborn

- Ranger Ron

- Alabama Hills Gang

- Unnamed route to the right of AHG

THE WALNUT

- Nut 'n' Honey
- Macadamia

THE PISTACHIO

- Nutty Buddy

DXM WALL

- Tussin
- Boogie Boy
- Dextromethorhan
- 44D
- Ghost Dance

NICE TOWER

- Full Moon
- Friday the 13th

SCHMALTZ

- Smutz
- Scmendrick
- Schmaltz
- Schmaltzie
- Shmuck
- Schmear

PILLAR OF TOTH

- Crone
- Hermit
- Magus
- Hanged Man

CATTLE POCKET FAR RIGHT

- The Slab Route

Kudos to Jamie B and El Jefe. Actions always speak louder than words. You guys should now charge an admission fee for climbing there.

When (and if) Williamson re-opens, I wonder if anyone is gonna go up there and start replacing some bolts. I figure that, high in the stormy San Gabriels, a bolt has a reliable shelf life of about 18 years. Could make sport climbing an actual dicey proposition!

Chief,

Thanks for all the hard work man! That's admirable you guys give back like that.

I know of a couple other iffy anchors, assuming somebody hasnt replaced them already:

1) Walk like an Egyptian in Eye Of Horus

2) the 10b/c at the Lone Pine Surf Club. I'm tempted to say the 8 looked iffy too, but not sure now

3) Itty Bitty Titty Committe in Cattle Pocket Area seemed like maybe it had one loose anchor as well.
